We Quit Homesteading

Grass-fed butter made from Raw Cream

Hey Reader,

A few years ago, we made a big decision. We quit homesteading.

Homesteading had been our dream—a way of life where we raised, butchered, and prepared our own food. We collected eggs daily, had fresh raw milk from our family cow, churned butter, made cheese, and cooked with meat we processed ourselves. Meals came straight from the work of our own hands. It was a lot. And it was also incredible.

Here’s the thing I didn’t see coming: homesteading didn’t just nourish our table—it really transformed me.

My body felt good. Really good. I could digest dairy with ease. My energy came back. Moving didn't hurt. My mind felt clearer, I slept better and I realized I had more focus, more joy, and more life. Was it the fresh air? The constant repetitive movement of chores? The nutrient-dense food? Probably all of it.

But what mattered most was this: I couldn’t keep this to myself.

We knew this was a gift meant to be shared, so we did something out of my comfort zone. Benjamin & I shifted from homesteading & raising food just for our family and we started farming.

We took a leap. We got a loan, bought more cropland, and began transforming fields that had grown corn and soybeans for decades into vibrant pastures. We expanded our herd, added another milk cow, more chickens, more beef cattle. We invested in tools, dug a new well, and found local organic feed sources.

We went all in—not just for our family, but for yours.

Now, we’re growing food with the same care we use for our own table, because we want YOU to experience what we’ve experienced. To taste the difference. To feel the difference. To live the difference.

It’s not always easy. Farming comes with long days, unexpected losses, and hard lessons. But it’s also deeply rewarding. Every time I look out at our pastures I feel an overwhelming sense of pride. And I think about you.

Because none of this would be possible without you.

When you support food raised on a local regenerative farm, you’re not just filling your freezer. You’re part of a movement. You’re simplifying your meals, reclaiming the ingredients in your food, your connection to the land, and the future of farming in America.

And that’s why we’re here—to serve you, to support you, and to help you thrive.

Thank you for letting us be part of your story.

With gratitude and hope,
Leah
