Where our attention rests.

Good morning Reader,

Last night, somewhere between chores and dinner, my husband Benj said something that made us both laugh—and then pause.

“I guess my full-time job at the college is now more of a hobby… considering the farm needs to make more in land payments than I earn in a year.”

He said it with a smile, not fear.

Farming has a way of clarifying things. What once felt like a dream starts asking grown-up questions. Can this land carry itself? Can we steward it well? Can we build something that lasts longer than us?

The honest answer is: we’re not doing this alone.

We have an incredible community that believes in local food, in farmers, and in the idea that where your food comes from actually matters. That support turns weight into purpose. It turns hard work into shared work.

When things feel unsettled, I’m reminded how much peace comes from remembering what actually matters most. It’s easy to fix our attention on what feels urgent, loud, or demanding. But again and again, Jesus draws our focus back to the one thing that cannot be taken away—a heart grounded in Him.

God is still at work—quietly, faithfully—often in places that won’t ever make the news. We aren’t asked to hold the whole world together. We’re simply called to walk faithfully in what’s been placed right in front of us.

For us, that vocation shows up in the daily work of caring for land, animals, and people—and in the relationships that grow alongside it. Choosing trust over fear. Community over isolation. Abundance over scarcity.

Thank you for being here and walking alongside us. Truly. We couldn’t do this without you.

With gratitude,
Leah
