[FIRST NAME GOES HERE] - You Are Fascinating!

Hi Reader,

Earlier this year I met an ultra-marathoner—someone who runs distances like 50 miles in a single race! Can you imagine? It was fascinating to hear his thoughts on high-quality fuel and how real, nutrient-dense food helps him perform at his best. He stopped by our farm to try some grass-fed beef, and it was refreshing to talk with someone so intentional about what they eat. It reminded me that I’m not alone in caring about the quality of our food—about avoiding pesticides, glyphosates, and artificial fillers.

But the truth is, each of you who stops by the farm has a story that amazes me. One of my favorite things about farm pickups is getting to know you—not just as customers but as real people, with lives full of experiences I never could have guessed.

Over the past year, I’ve met:

  • A former Broadway performer who is now homeschooling in Minnesota
  • A woman who aspired became a nun in Los Angeles—until she was told she had to go on one date first! She ended up meeting the love of her life, choosing marriage and loves being a wife & mother.
  • A family setting off on a bold homesteading adventure down south, planning on living off the land with their toddler and newborn while they build their dream.
  • A retired farmer who also once ran a tavern on the side.
  • A man who took a canoe down white water rapids with a friend and lived to share the story.
  • A Minnesota High School League basketball official—as a basketball mom I can only imagine the intensity of that job!

And the list goes on—because of our farm, I’ve met policemen, chiropractors, musicians, artists, skiers, athletes, herbalists, realtors, basketball coaches, professors, teachers, singers, sculptors, electricians, farm wives, veterans, nurses, dog lovers (and cat lovers!), campers, fishers, hunters, dealership runners, faith leaders, doulas, Canadian's traveling through and families from other continents like Africa, South America, & Europe, carpenters, shepherds, moms, dads, twins, grandmas, grandpas, and curious children of all ages. And I know I’m still missing so many vocations and callings you are each so unique!

All driving out to our humble farm—to enjoy simple, good food and share a love for something real. And that, to me, is one of the best parts.

C.S. Lewis once wrote:
"There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal."

Psalm 139:14 tells us:
"I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

God created you with intention. The little things you take for granted—your quirks, your journey, your passions—are part of His masterpiece.

Something unique about me that you might not know? I can ride a unicycle! My husband Benj and I like to joke that we’re each half a clown—he can juggle, and I can unicycle, but not the other way around.

Now it’s your turn—I love surprises! What’s something unique about you or your family? Hit reply and tell me or share at your next visit—I’d truly love to know.

With gratitude,
Leah
