Let’s Fill That Freezer — Beef Shares Now Open (Closes Feb 14)

Good morning, Reader!

I'm so glad you're here. Whether you've just joined us recently (welcome — we have so many wonderful new faces!) or you've been with us from the start, this week is an important one on the farm.

Our 2026 Bulk Grass-Fed Beef Shares are officially OPEN.

Ordering closes Saturday, February 14 at 10:00 PM.

This year we have 8 beef animals available as bulk shares. Once these shares are reserved, we'll open the waitlist for 2027.

If grass-fed beef is on your list for 2026, now is the time to reserve your share.

This season, we're offering Custom Butchered Beef Shares — which means we get to work with our longtime favorite, award-winning butcher, Schmidt's Meat Market, while keeping your final take-home cost lower and more transparent.

Here’s how it works:

  • You purchase your share from us based on hanging weight
  • You pay the butcher directly for processing
  • Your final cost reflects the actual hanging weight of the animal you receive
  • 2026 Beef share will be ready for pick up October 2026

This means you’re paying based on the size of the animal.
Unsure how hanging weight works? Learn more about ordering beef by hanging weight.

Why people love buying beef this way:

  • You choose your own cuts — no upcharge for premium steaks
  • For our nose-to-tail families, you can use every part of the animal: bones, organs, tallow, the works
  • You work directly with the butcher to get exactly what you want
  • And if this is new to you, I walk you through it step by step

It's not scary. I promise.

Beef Share Pricing (Hanging Weight)

  • $7.75/lb hanging weight
  • Whole beef discounted to $7.25/lb (you may split with friends)

Typical costs:

  • ¼ Beef (~150 lb): $1,162.50 + processing
  • ½ Beef (~300 lb): $2,325 + processing
  • Whole Beef (~600 lb): $4,350 + processing (discounted rate)

Processing cost example: ~$184 for a 150 lb quarter share, paid directly to the butcher.

Here’s what you can count on:

  • 100% grass-fed & finished
  • Regeneratively raised on diverse, spray-free pastures
  • No artificial hormones or antibiotics
  • Rich flavor, healthy fats, and nutrients you can trust
  • Full transparency — you’re always welcome to visit the farm

I know how busy life gets. And I also know how good it feels to open your freezer and know dinner is handled.

One decision now = months of peace of mind.
